Has a great feel to it. It supported my D90 w/70-300 zoom in portrait position with ease. Panning feature makes fine tuning easy when ball is set.

I like to do macro work, and this ball head does a great job with my 7D with 100mm macro lens. Quick and stable.

A very usfull ball head. My only complaint is the diameter of the base is not the same as my manfrotto.

Comments about Vanguard Vanguard SBH-50 Ball Head with Quick Release & Two Bubble Levels, Supports 13 lbs.:
I bought this SBH-50 ball head for it's stated support weight and levels but I was a bit weary that it might not be all that high quality because of the price. I was pleasantly surprised when I opened the box.
This ball head is built like a tank all major parts (90% of the entire thing) are solid metal.
The two pressure locking knobs are easy to use and hold a pro DSLR with a hefty lens with no effort even in portrait.
The quick release has both a pin lock and a backup pressure lock as well. The unit even comes with a little key to help screw the quick release plate onto your camera super tight.
The two bubble levels are such a great feature that I don't understand why all ball heads don't have them. You always know if your shot is straight.
