The head works great and the quick release is the same as my ball head which makes it nice. My only complaint would be that the pivoting from landscape to portrait doesn't stop exactly at 0 or 90 but goes a little bit further in each direction requiring you to verify the angle and set the screw tightly so it doesn't move.

I've been looking for a head that makes following birds in flight easier. This head does the job. Before I was using a grip head. For me, it was harder to pan with.
