The thing with this particular head is that every time you want to use your tripod, you have to screw the camera into it. And then unscrew it to go upload your files, Then one was overexposed so you have to go back and screw it back on... and off and on. I am unsure if they still make the one that I had previous. There was a little piece that clipped right off the head so when you want to detach and reattach it was so easy and quick. I would recommend finding one like that. This one does have a greater stability factor because of it being so tightly fastened, so if you don't mind the little extra work every time, I would say this is the right head for long exposures or anything that you would want maximum stability.
