Perfect for portraits. I used this during a Church Directory shoot. Made it very easy to leave the tripod set and flip from landscape to portrait depending on group or individual subjects. Used with a 3-way pan head. Recommend using a ball-head instead for more freedom of movement in natural settings.

this thing has no play in the parts that would make it unstable. with only a pentax kx and 50 x 135 lens it can get very bouncy. so this good idea works well in solving the problem of flipping the camera easily and keeping it in the same plane but defeats even the best tripods and heads with possible camera shake it's not unusable but it will slow you down with out a remote.

Use a trigger release because it wobbles a bit when you try and push the shutter release button.

This product does well what it is intended to do; it allows the photographer to shift quickly from landscape to portrait layout, while keeping the lens centered over the tripod. I did not get good results for long exposures using a DSLR with macro lens and extension tubes. I think it magnifies the camera's vibration.

I use it on a Manfrotto Triopd 072.I am getting onfidence to use it with Nikon D-3 camera with lens 200mm E.D. F-4 Micro Nikor. This product offers flexibility in close up photography.

Just the ticket for simplifying the transition from landscape to portrait orientation. If used without a vertical grip, the optical center remains centered over the tripod when changing position.

First I find it funny that one of the reviewers is from Iron Mountain Michigan. I happen to live about 5 miles away. Small world.

I would have given this product 5 stars but the cork gasket that was supposed to be in the box was missing. I simply went out and bought some rubber washers in place of the cork and it works well.

I love how this design puts the camera directly above the mounting no matter if verticle or horizontal keeping the entire tripod / camera well balanced.

I loved it. My hands were taking a beating from carrying the L-bracket and camera so that I could move it around. NOW though, its easier. The quick release I purchased doesn't tighten down enough with this Strobe Frame, but the frame itself is a God send!

The Vertaflip is probably one of the most useful tools around. After years of using one on my camera bracket, I finally purchased another for permanent use on the tripod. I wouldn't be without these guys.
