Most of the table top tripods I looked at and owned never could support very much weight. This tripod is everything I hopped it would be and more. It is small, compact and will support enough weight to make it usable. Since it does not take up much room, I can carry it with me werever I go. I like this product.

Comments about Giottos Giottos QU 500B Mini Tabletop Tripod, Supports 11 lbs, Maximum Height 2.2":

I was looking for a tabletop tripod to reliably support the weight of a Nikon D200 with a vertical grip battery holder, an SB-800 Speedlight, and a remote control (Nikon ML-3) attached via an accessory grip. This tripod is perfect. I keep a Manfrotto 3229 attached to it for quick set up. The open legs create a stable 10-inch diameter support area and no tipping is caused by an 18-200 VR lens. Worth much more than I paid. Product feels well made. Kudos to Giottos. I'm getting photos with me in them because this little gem can go with me into a restaurant, etc. where I wouldn't dream of hauling in a tripod or permitting (trusting) a stranger to hold my gear and take a picture that includes myself. Understand that I don't always have all that gear on this tabletop tripod; most times it's just the D-200 and a 12-24 lens, but I wish to convey the stability of this unit.
