Heavy duty enough to hold my T1i with a fairly heavy lens. Love how it fits in my camera bag, just twist it in to make it fit. Seems to grip around anything and hold steady.

Comments about Joby Joby Professional Gorillapod Focus, Flexible Aluminum SLR Tripod, Supports 11 Lbs.:

I bought this product to take trekking with me, I need everything to fit in my backpack and keep the weight down. The gorillapod is good for this purpose and certainly better than nothing but I wouldn't use it any other time. Not with my kit anyway I have a d700 and 24-70 & 70-200 f2.8 lenses. It does suffer the wobblies in even slight wind.

Comments about Joby Joby Professional Gorillapod Focus, Flexible Aluminum SLR Tripod, Supports 11 Lbs.:

This is tyyhe real thing for a Nikon D300 with a macro lens. THe legs stay put where you bend and place them. The next smaller Gorillapod (for 6.5 pounds) flat fell down - wouldn't hold the D300 in a steady position.

Comments about Joby Joby Professional Gorillapod Focus, Flexible Aluminum SLR Tripod, Supports 11 Lbs.:

I wanted something to fit in a backpack (and didn't weigh me down) for long hikes that would enable me to take long exposure images (Nikon D90)once I conquered that mountain. The Joby was an excellent choice and I am very pleased. Very light and fits neatly in the top compartment of my Lowepro backpack. A great choice.

Comments about Joby Joby Professional Gorillapod Focus, Flexible Aluminum SLR Tripod, Supports 11 Lbs.:

I shoot a travel show. I have to shoot fast, travel light, and carry all my gear with me everywhere. Weight, size & usefulness are big criteria for me. The Gorillapod Focus is unbeatable. It's my second pair of sticks, it never gets in the the way, and it always does an amazing job. I use it with my Canon 5d + battery grip + 70-200 lens for time lapse and I also use it with my Canon XHA1 video camera to get shots that I normally would have never dreamed possible. This little beast helps me be a more creative photographer, and that keeps getting me jobs. Well worth the investment.

intended use matters

Creative uses, Folds Small, Lightweight, Novel setups possible
Best Uses:

Describe Yourself:

Bottom Line:

Comments about Joby Joby Professional Gorillapod Focus, Flexible Aluminum SLR Tripod, Supports 11 Lbs.:

Intended use for this gorillapod is important. I believe the reviewer above about how it might not hold a heavy video camera. However, when using the tripod for a heavy DSLR/lens combo the gorillapod works just fine. It is very stiff, very secure compared to the other gorillapods I have used: I have no qualms about setting this thing up anywhere/anyhow I want with my equipment on it. I use this for wandering around the city as an option for a long-exposure if I need it: it's weightless and you can attach it to any part of your bag/backpack and forget about it until you need it. If I were to go out for some dedicated long exposure shooting I would use something else. I use a manfrotto RC2 ball head for the gorillapod.

It works perfectly for what I got it for.

Really, really, bad. Do not consider any of these tripods for anything other than the cheapest P&Ss. They are delusional thinking this can hold up a video camera.
