Comments about Benro Benro A-297EX Aluminum EX Quick-Lock Flexpod, Maximum Height 72", Supports 26.4 lbs (12 kg):

Very solid versatile tripod. A bit heavy but I knew that when I ordered it. The center column locks down solid at any angle, much better than a Vanguard Alta pod I also looked at. It included a nice carrying case and optional steel spike feet. The quality is very good and the tripod is very stable. The tripod is tall enough that my camera is above eye-level (with a vanguard SBH-200 ballhead) without extending the center column at all (I'm 5'10"). Also, the tripod fits in the case with the ballhead attached with only the quick-release sticking out of the zip closure, which is workable. My only complaint is that the center column does not have any sort of safety mechanism to prevent it from being pulled out if the lock knob is loosened. This could lead to an unpleasant surprise, especially if you are using the column upside down. Easily fixed though by simply putting a rubber-band or an o-ring on the bottom of the column.

This is a nicely made very solid tripod. It's a bit heavy but I knew that when I ordered it. I'm 5"10" and my camera is above eye level with just 2 sections extended and the column all the way down (using a vanguard SBH-200 ballhead). The carrying case is also nicely made and has an internal zipper pocket for storing tools and the included steel spike feet. I'm very impressed with the quality for the cost. Also, the macro flexibility of the center column is great and is rock solid when you lock it down (unlike one of the Vanguard Alta series pods I checked out).
