I compared this in the store with a Gitzo and it's basically a knock off. The only difference is it's slightly lighter and shorter than the Gitzo but $250 less and it comes with a head. Also the grip locks need a little more tightening to lock compared with the Gitzo but do work quite well. It opens and closes quickly with simple twist of the locking grips. I thought I'd replace the head with a better one but am quite happy with it. It has an Arca-Swiss plate, tension adjustment for the ball and works quite well.For the price this is an excellent product that is lightweight and very compact when folded up. The carrying case is a nice bonus.
