Comments about Bogen Imaging Bogen - Manfrotto 055XDB Black Basic Tripod Legs (Height 18.9 - 70.8", Maximum Load 15.40 lbs):

This is a very sturdy tripod, but more than the average enthusiast probably needs. I already had a Manfrotto head, or I probably would have bought something as good, but less expensive.

I am a newly "professional" landscape photographer and have been slowly adding good equipment to my bag. After several frustrating starts with lightweight tripods I really am pleased with this for the price.

Comments about Bogen Imaging Bogen - Manfrotto 055XDB Black Basic Tripod Legs (Height 18.9 - 70.8", Maximum Load 15.40 lbs):

I tested one of these against some far more expensive tripods with the same diameter tubing and it held it's own. Grab the tripod half way between the head and the top leg lock and twist. I good one shouldn't twist and this is a good one. The center column is the weak link....don't use it.

Comments about Bogen Imaging Bogen - Manfrotto 055XDB Black Basic Tripod Legs (Height 18.9 - 70.8", Maximum Load 15.40 lbs):

I bought this tripod to replace a cheaper Slik that I bought two years ago. The biggest lens I have used with it is a 100-400 Canon L lens. I had no worries that it would fall over though it would be nice if the hook on it was a little bigger so I could have more versatility with what I could hang from it to weigh it down. I would recommend to anyone looking for a good sturdy tripod that can't afford a carbon fiber one just yet.
