I was looking for something not too expensive to replace an old tripod that had seen better days. I wanted something stable, light enough to carry on hikes, smooth operating, and within my budget. This worked out perfectly.

Comments about Bogen Imaging Bogen - Manfrotto 3001N Compact Tripod Legs (Height 6.7 - 57.1", Maximum Load 11.10 lbs):

I needed a tripod that was sturdy and would hold my SLR with a big lens. This is a great tripod if you are going to set up in one place and stay there. It is a bit heavy to take with you hiking.
