Comments about Fantasea Fantasea CP-6 Underwater Camera Housing, for Nikon Coolpix 4600 and 5600 Digital Cameras:

The housing has a great seal with their gasket, no need for lubrication. Would be hard to flood with this set up. Sturdy, great strap for underwater use. Prior knowledge of there being no external access to the power button, I had to open housing to cut on before every dive, Fantasea claims it is a safety feature of some kind, I cant figure that one out. Someone told me of holding the review button for 3 seconds, will activate power, hit it again and it is ready to take your pics. Housing fogs easily, even with dessicants. There is no access to the dial, to switch from pics to video. There is also no way to change modes, by the menu button. Site says"It is fully functional, allowing access to all essential controls and features while diving.", but in all reality it does not. From Fantasea site... "The CP-6 housing provides access to the cameras shutter release, zoom control, flash mode, focus mode and quick review functions. Other camera functions and features that are desirable, should be made in advance of closing the housing and using it". No other functions are possible, no white balancing, no deleting images, etc. It was a good starter, but wish I had bought the Nikon housing instead, it controls everything on the camera. The price is not bad, but I say go for a housing that gives you every option.
