I have bought both the Ikelite and the Canon housing for this camera. While the Canon housing is nice and compact, it's nowhere near as sturdy or rugged in it's construction. My underwater cameras take a beating sometimes in rough conditions, and this is the perfect housing to put up with some abuse and still work perfectly. It's weighted so that it's neutrally buoyant in the water, but a little heavy on land. Great housing though, I'd highly recommend it!

I just recently upgraded to this housing from the Canon housing for the same camera. I love the fact that this housing is so sturdy and can handle the bumps and bangs of diving with me. The camera is fully functional in this housing and works great. I'm totally sold on it!

I started out with the Canon DC-19 housing for my camera, but recently upgraded to the Ikelite housing with an Ikelite strobe. I love the fact that this housing is built to withstand anything. It's very rugged and durable and can take being banged around during a dive. It's extremely easy to use and maneuver under water. I would highly recommend this housing for anyone who is serious about their underwater photography.
