I had this lense given to me when I got my D70s. I have shot in many different situations with this lens. Night, full sun, macro etc and it does alright with sharpness in the f8-f11 sweetspot. There is distortion almost the whole way through the zoom range. The build quaility is poor. There are many other better lens out there for the money. The nikkor kit lens 18-55, 18-70 would be a better choice IMHO. Save a the money this is going for and get the kit lens its better than people let on.
