Comments about Sennheiser Sennheiser MKE 300 Super-Cardioid Shotgun Condenser Microphone Camera Mountable:

This is a great mic...if you don't need to record in stereo.
I bought it with no knowledge of the mono sound, even with much research it said nowhere, so I sent it back and bought a dm-50 which was made for the HV30 and is a stereo mic with three settings for various shotgun and stereo sound.

The Sennheiser MKE 300 is however a great mic, sits nicely in the hot shoe and does capture great straight ahead sound without picking up much if any camera noise(tape motor, zoom motor).
It is inconvienient having to plug the mic in to get sound into the camera unlike the DM-50 that works and transfers sound through the hot shoe.

All in all a great mic and if it recorded stereo I would have kept it, if that isn't important than this is the mic to buy.
