Great price [...]Very convenient camcorder, excellent picture quality, sound is average but ok. No image stabilization so have to hold it somewhat still when recording but also don't have to carry around a regular sized camcorder and accessories, worth it for me and for only [$] I've bought 2.

I have had this camera for a few months now, and I love it. Easy to use, good picture. The only problem you might have is the sound sync. In HD and HD+ the sound will not sync right if you are using a cheap laptop. The sound will be fine on a good T.V. or when you put the video on DVD. If you record in VGA the sound is always in sync no matter what you play the video on. The VGA picture is really good also. If you don't plan on keeping your film and are just playing around, I suggest you use VGA, and in this mode you can shoot 8 hours WOW!....Bottom line---This is a great camera.

I made my own helmet mount and have started using the Vado to document my favorite ski runs. It worked much better than I could have expected and I'm sure I'll get better as the season goes on. It's a great little camera at a nice little price.

I bought the vado specifically to video my daughters growing up. The camera has worked great so far. It is very easy to use, and it's simple to upload my videos to my pc. The built-in program allows for easy uploading to the internet also. It is very small and fits easily in my pocket, which is a plus, instead of lugging around those large camcorders. The buttons and functions are easy to you use. The only cons I have come accross is that there is no built-in light for the camera. In dimly lit areas, the picture quality is greatly reduced. So if there is good natural light around, the imaging and picture quality is excellent. When the lighting is poor, so is the picture quality. Overall, the camera is great for the price.

For $100 it is a great deal. Noticed that there was a small sound lag during video review, but there's a possibility it's the lack of my wifes computer processor.
Overall... extremely happy, decent battery, picture is awesome...
Great value!

Great little camera, surprisingly good video quality, no complaints about the actual unit. It falls flat on its face though when you realize that the video output is totally useless and you cannot edit or do anything with it.
You are forced to use the super-basic video software that it comes pre-loaded with and you have to buy the upgrade to do anything remotely useful. If you're a Mac user, it just won't work with iMovie. I'm on a PC with Roxio Easy media Creator, no go either.
Unbelievable that Creative Labs would force users to use their software only. Lame.

I've read several places about not being able to use this with a mac so I held off until I got Fusion to run windows. Turns out you can easily drag and drop your videos to copy using mac. The only thing that doesn't work is the built-in program from creative labs that allows you to do other things. Not a problem since you can use iMovie to edit your videos. This thing is also VERY portable in that I carried it in my shorts pocket everywhere on my trip to Costa Rica. The downside to the Vado HD is that it is not so good in low light, but I have a canon HD camcorder that is the same way. The other downside is if you have alot of video clips you have to cycle through them one at a time to get to the one you want to view. One thing you need to be mindful of is camera shake. When you review videos on the Vado HD they look fine, but when you plug it into your HDTV 54" screen the little motion becomes an earthquake if your not careful. Speaking of plugging into your HDTV.... creative labs was nice enough to include a cable to connect the Vado HD to a HDMI port on a HDTV. Nice touch that the Flip doesn't do. Lastly, the Vado HD has "frozen" up on me. All I needed to do was remove the rechargable battery for a second to reset it.
So overall a great deal for a HD video camera that you can use to tape up to 2 hours in HD plus, 4 hours of HD, or 8 hours at VGA resolution!

I use the product for recording memories of my family on a weekly/daily basis. It's great for quickly and easily capturing those moments when they happen and in HD. I find the audio quality poor. My previous "video cam" was a 5 year old Sony Cybershot 4MP camera with video features. The audio quality by comparison is much louder and clearer than my VADO HD.
Eight Gigs of built in memory gives you up to 2 hours of FULL 720p HD video, more than enough for me. The VADO HD movies are recorded in .AVI. I have had the Vado HD for almost 2 months and I still have major issues with the codec and video playback on Windows Media Player. The videos do not work with my Video Editing Software, Sony Vegas 9.0. During playback on most video players, the video runs at about half speed while the audio plays at normal speed out of sync. Some players, the picture does not show at all. And this is after I installed the codec from the camera, using windows XP.
The only way I can watch the videos with normal playback is through our television via an HDMI cable to the VADO, through USB connection to a PC with the VADO Player Software, through YouTube or by playback on the camera itself. I have had no success enjoying the videos after saving them on my hard drive.
There is no picture mode. So still photographs are not possible with the camera in your hand. The built in player software (accessible through a PC when hooked up via USB) allows you to snap stills from a video and save them as JPG, but 720 x 1080 resolution photos are not good for prints.
The built in video "editing" software does have some very cool features. A "Light" version of the software is accessible with unlimited use, but you have to pay to upgrade to the full version with all the bells and whistles. Basically the software has no editing controls that you might expect, rather it just takes the videos, photos and music you select and randomly creates a super mega video college. You just set the time limit, optional opening and closing credits, and pick a themed style effect and you're done. I find it very cool and I'm interested in purchasing the full version. It has crashed on me more than once, so I'm hesitant to make that purchase. I wonder if I need new hardware.
Overall it's a cool camera, small, quick and easy to use. But the poor audio quality and Windows XP compatibly issues has me looking for a new pocket video camera at this point. I would have given it 2 stars, but the video editing sofware does have me a bit excited.
