Comments about Flashpoint Flashpoint VL-36R, Battery Operated 36 LED Infrared Night Vision Video Light with Shoe Mount & Bracket:
The earlier reviews of this product are based on ignorance as they simply have the wrong camera or don't know how to use the one they have! Canons have a mechanism to screen out infra red! Used with a Sony Handycam or similar this is a fantastic product. It will illuminate a room in darkness better than if you had the light on, definitely up to 50 feet and has vastly improved our filming. The only downside is 3 hours to charge the battery and these only last 45 minutes, so you need several in reserve. Would be much improved if they also came to use with rechargable AA batteries.

I wrote to the person i purchsed to see if its a defect and I hope it is cause I tried it in my bathroom pitch black and couldnt see #@#@$@! and its a 9ft x 5ft room. The camera I used was a Canon GL2 on advertisement says it can be used with all standard cam corders. Ughhhhhhhhhhhhh

This product is advertised to illuminate within 10' to 75'. I can't see a thing farther away than 1'. My camera does see infrared, the problem is that this infrared light is not very bright - even with 36 LEDs.
