Comments about Smith-Victor Smith Victor AL415 150 watt AC Video Light with Barndoors.:

I purchased this for a specific project to light invertebrates in an aquarium where I had planned to use the light on the pictured stand above the aquarium, but the stand is no longer available. I have improvised by using other available tools.

Comments about Smith-Victor Smith Victor AL415 150 watt AC Video Light with Barndoors.:

I own many lighting units from SW and I use them on many settings, sometimes on harsh roadshots and it is superbly made and reliable stuff. This particular unit is just enough if you covering interview or talking head with the setting! I use four of them (four points lighting)and they made inexpensive, efficient, very easy to move mobile setup. The entire 4 units set fits into one small case. I can recommend to buy with it filter holders from SV(if you use them on standard lighting tripods as I do) and it can take gels and defusers and it may be anything from spot to flood. The ligh gives nice gradual border and is very useful for fill in back grounds as well. As it is quartz it also may be used (I use it that way) with SV half way bulb switch that is not only preserves bulbs, but if you in a situation when light are on the same distance to the subject it makes nice fill in light on the same color temperature.
Hope it helps.
