Comments about iSonic Isonic Hd-665 720p Hi Def Dig Video Cam:

The reason i bought this camera is because i am a college student and i have some video editing classes, not very high tech. I figured flash memory would be the best way to go and the camera was affordable.

However, it was very light and didn't seem very sturdy. I think i easily could have broke it.

I don't know why this camera is so popular. I got it and i ended up sending it back. I don't think the video quality was that great, pretty grainy actually, but then again i didn't get to see much of it because of compatibility problems.

It says that it is compatible with mac, but it doesn't tell you that software that comes with it isn't. I found that out the hard way. Since i couldn't get the software on my computer i couldn't convert the files to something i could work with. I tried converting the files in other programs but didn't have any luck, whenever i tried to use them after that i was told there was an error? Also, since it records video in AVI i shouldn't have had any problem putting my video clips in Premiere Pro, which i use at school, but that still wouldn't work either. (Said there was a missing codec?) I was very disappointed. I got this camera for basic editing projects and i couldn't edit anything!

I also tried to hook up the camera to my non-hd television, which in the booklet it says you should be able to do, but that would not work either, i don't know why.

The manuals were not very helpful, they didn't even explain charging the camera, which to me was essential. Charging the camera it just kept blinking and eventually it just stayed red which i took to mean it was fully charged. I thought it was annoying that when i opened it when it was charging it didn't show progress on the battery, but just a full battery because it was plugged in, so there was no way to know how long it would take.

This was the first video camera i bought in a long time, so maybe i'm being a bit harsh?, but i just want an affordable camera that's good quality and works without problems. It doesn't need to take pictures or play music, why would i buy a video camera for that?

If you're not planning to edit your videos and you just want something very portable that also plays music, then maybe this is for you.

All it did for me was give me a headache and cost me money to send it back.
