This is a great little light for fill light. Use it when you want to fill shadows in eyes, nose, etc. It's small but very bright, runs cool, and comes with snap-on filters for tungsten or for diffusion. You can vary the intensity of the light while holding the degrees Kelvin constant. It has a 1/4 x 20 connection so you can put it on a stand. The lights are LED, so the power use is low. It's rechargeable, so there are no wires. It recharges quickly, and the charge will last your entire session in most cases. This is a "gotta have" for portrait or wedding photographers.

Neat little package provides decent beam of light at near-5600K color. The CTO (tungsten) filter supplied introduced a nasty green cast. Mfg rep said that it was the nature of the LEDs to provide some green color. I provided evidence that the unfiltered light was slightly green, but the CTO filter light was garishly green and requested a new CTO filter. Finally agreed to send one to me. The new filter is visibly very different from the original and does still have a hint of green. Their QC process for making the filters needs some improvement. Rep suggested that I use a "negative green" gel to correct the light. Their site boasts that this is a complete solution that doesn't need "delicate gels" that can tear. How about providing a filter that compensates for the green in the LEDs and give a true tungsten balanced light? Not quite up to what I was expecting, but I intend to keep it anyway...gotta find the right gel

Well used for facial daylight fill/contrast outdoors; indoor highlights for dimly lit rooms/areas (10'/20' workable distances) and good illumination for close upper body lighting requirements for all low light conditions. Effective range is easily up to 15'/20' with a entry level pro cam, or better.
The design and especially the overall construction are outstanding -- anodized alloy metal everywhere with "strength" and "durability" written all over the product, both inside and outside.
Note that the LED's are from Japan -- not from other sources that use lesser quality materials and production techniques.
A spare/replacement battery system could be more easily designed, but considering the results of this design, the slight inconvenience of unscrewing two screws, is fine.
The fade mechanism is as good as any light out there, and much better than anything in this price range -- very precise from 0% to 100%.
You do not have to worry about hitting this thing somewhere, or even dropping it -- it's that sturdy.
I was a little hesitant buying this "new" product, but the two reviews I read and a discussion with their sales rep before buying it, proved to be 100% accurate -- probably the best light available even for twice the street price.
Buy it and you should be pleased. I think it is a better deal all the way around than the market leading light in this category -- you know the one I mean -- I don't want to speak poorly of them because they have a good product too -- I just like this one better because of its very strong build quality, small size (it fits cameras and places the other larger lights do not) and great battery life even at 100% output. Then, when you consider the overall cost (including a spare battery), it's less than the other good competitors out there. The clincher is, it's housing is "cold" after hours of use. You could easily mount two of these on a cam and not look intimidating or run out of mounting space. This gets you twice as much run time, or twice the light available. Every way I look at it, this is a clear winner.
