The Acer T232HL bmidz 23" Multi-Touch LED Monitor is a widescreen and frameless HD monitor, LED-backlit and 10-point touch-screen, compatible with Windows 8 touch-screen functionality. 10-point touch-screen means that you can use two fingers to perform screen gestures that reach as many as 10 points of contact, gestures like resizing and rotating an image. "LED-backlit" means that LED lamps are used for light as opposed to traditional CCFL lamps. LED lamps are longer lasting than CCFLs and consume less power.

The monitor's resolution is high definition 1920 x 1080 progressive, considered "Full HD" by television standards. Progressive is the "p" in 1080p and is the better of the two HD types. Any movie or video that comes in 1080p, like pretty-much all Blu-ray movies do, you'll be able to see in the detail it's meant to be presented in. And the fairly fast 5ms response time of the monitor will support that detail by playing the movie or video smoothly, without dropping as many pixels (or any pixels) in the process as can be expected with slower response times.

Inputs consist of HDMI, VGA, DVI and three USB ports. By HDMI you can connect laptops, Blu-ray players, cameras and other HDMI devices. Into the USB ports you can conveniently connect keyboards and mice, rather than plugging these in to the back of a computer. And if you'll ever need to use the monitor as a second display for your computer, you'll have the convenience of choosing between the VGA and DVI ports to connect by.
