AdoramaTVpresents Getting the Shot withCorey Rich.
You’ve planned for a big outdoor shoot with beautiful blue sunny skies, but guess what?!? The weather gods didn’t get the memo. No problem! Turns out that what most folks consider bad weather actually presents great photographic opportunities for photographers with open minds and a willingness to get out and really embrace the inclement conditions.
In this episode of Getting the Shot, Corey Rich revisits a trail-running shoot in Oakland Hills of the Bay Area that was nearly thwarted by dense fog and rain clouds. Instead of going to trail-running locations that would otherwise have those big blue-sky backgrounds, Rich took the opportunity to head into a dense grove of trees, which might otherwise have been impossible to shoot in direct sunlight. He also chose to embrace the low-light conditions, using an even slower shutter speed. The resulting image is unique, dynamic and wouldn’t have been possible without a little good luck in the form of bad weather.
