Shooting at night is always a challenge. Corey Rich shares how he did it on the face of a mountain.
In January 2015, two world-class rock climbers achieved a first for their sport: a free ascent of the Dawn Wall of El Capitan in Yosemite National Park. The news of Tommy Caldwell and Kevin Jorgeson’s ascent captivated a global audience, largely thanks to the stunning imagery that was being captured live from the side of the 3,000-foot monolith. Corey Rich was one of the photographers who spent 10 days living on the side of El Cap with his friends as he documented their historic ascent.
