Bryan Peterson gives a great metaphor of food to make the point of the importance of filling the frame. In this tutorial he asks you to consider if you are a dietary photographer who likes to keep the viewer hungry or do you want to be the chef of photography who likes to present a full plate of food and satisfy appetites?
