AdoramaTVpresents Getting the Shot withCorey Rich.
Shooting in low light, especially right before dawn or right after dusk, is one of the most challenging conditions for nailing a technically sound picture. But this is when the magic happens!
In this Tech Tip, Corey shares some fantastic tips for low-light photography that anyone can use, while also exploring the relationship between suffering and making great pictures. This episode takes us to a snow cave high in the Karakoram Mountains of Pakistan. While his two climbing partners enjoy the warmth of a sleeping bag and nice hot cup of tea, Corey remains outside, freezing his butt off while waiting for the moment when the ambient light of the beautiful mountainous background finally balances with the light of his teammates’ headlamps. The result is a well-executed low-light photograph that makes pushing through those few extra hours of discomfort all worth it.
