Look! In the sky over Las Vegas! It’s a bird! It’s a plane! No—it’s Superzoom! Smart Phones are limited as to how far they can zoom, if at all, but Fujifilm is hoping to build sales by introducing four compact digital cameras with long-range zoom lenses at PMA@CES trade show, the photography trade show within the big Consumer Electronics Show being held this week in Las Vegas. The Fujifilm FinePix S9400W , S9200 and S1 all offer 50x zoom lenses, while the FinePix S860 offers a pocketable, affordable model that nonetheless packs a powerful zoom.

3 Cool 50x Cameras

Leading the pack is the Fujifilm S1, the world’s first water-resistant superzoom digital camera, which you can read about here. The S9400 offers mostly the same features including WiFi, full HD video capture, an extensive selection of creative filters, and a new image stabilization for both still and movie recording. All of the 50x models feature a zoom range of 24-1200mm equivalent and a maximum aperture of f/2.8-6.5, with macro focus possible down to 1cm. It can be pre-ordered now for $499.95

Fujifilm claims fast AF acquisition of as little as 0.3 seconds, and can record 1080p video at up to 60fps. 5-axis image stabilization combines two axis optical and 3-axis digital stabilization. For videographers, the Movie Trimming and Movie Join features lets you remove unwanted footage and combine multiple takes into one file in-camera.

The S9400W, S9200 and S1 all also offer 10 creative Advanced filters: Pop Color, Toy Camera, Miniature, Partial Color, High-Key, Soft-Focus, Cross Screen, Dynamic Tone, Fish-Eye, and Low Key.

The difference between the three models is that the S1 offers both Wi-Fi and weatherproofing, the S9400W offers Wi-Fi and can be pre-ordered from Adorama now for $349.95. The S9200 does not offer either feature but is otherwise identical, and can be pre-odered for $329.95.

36x Model Almost Fits In Your Pocket

The Fujifilm S8600 boasts many of the same features as its longer-reaching siblings, albeit with lower movie resolution (720p/30fps) and a lower-resolution EVF. It also lacks Wi-Fi. However, the anticipated price is expected to be quite affordable.
