This band is famous for a few reasons: their outsider lo-\ufb01 60\u2018s garage musician status, being one of Frank Zappa and Kurt Cobain\u2019s self-proclaimed favorite bands, and for the unique Eastwood AvalonAV-2T guitars this trio of gals played.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-23049 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.adorama.com\/alc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/prince_8_1-1024x687.jpg\" alt=\"prince_8_1\" width=\"640\" height=\"429\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.adorama.com\/alc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/prince_8_1-1024x687.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.adorama.com\/alc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/prince_8_1-300x201.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.adorama.com\/alc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/prince_8_1.jpg 1200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Prince\u2019s Cloud Schecter Guitar.<\/strong> First seen in the early 80\u2018s movie &#8220;Purple Rain,&#8221; the Cloud Guitar series has been a staple in Prince\u2019s collection. Maple, brass nuts, gold-plated, and on closer inspection, Love Symbol inlays as fret markers. These were custom ordered exclusively for only his own use.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-23043 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.adorama.com\/alc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/bootsy-collins.jpg\" alt=\"bootsy-collins\" width=\"480\" height=\"685\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.adorama.com\/alc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/bootsy-collins.jpg 480w, https:\/\/www.adorama.com\/alc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/bootsy-collins-210x300.jpg 210w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 480px) 100vw, 480px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Bootsy Collins\u2019 Space Bass.<\/strong> The Parliament-Funkadelic bassist, and previously part of James Brown\u2019s line-up, played several versions of the star-shaped custom-made bass guitars during the 70\u2019s. When asked why he chose the name, he said \u201cRoy Rogers had a horse named Trigger. A self-taught left-handed guitarist, and creator of the alternating bass style known as \u201cCotten picking,\u201d Elizabeth Cotten liked to play this right handed-guitar upside down. As you can see, this is basically a 2&#215;4 board bolted to a guitar neck. The threeway pickup select placement has been said to resemble a ri\ufb02e trigger, but I\u2019m not sure this guitar is intimidating in that sense. Everything about this guitar says \u201cDevo\u201d &#8211; angular, assertive, choppy, silly. Have you ever tried to play one of these sitting down?You can\u2019t.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-23042 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.adorama.com\/alc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/albert_king_B.jpg\" alt=\"albert_king_B\" width=\"516\" height=\"650\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.adorama.com\/alc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/albert_king_B.jpg 516w, https:\/\/www.adorama.com\/alc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/albert_king_B-238x300.jpg 238w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 516px) 100vw, 516px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Albert King\u2019s 1958 Gibson Flying V a.k.a. \u201cLucy.\u201d<\/strong> Known as one of the \u201cThree Kings of Blues Guitar (along with B.B. King and Freddie King),\u201d Albert\u2019s best-known works with Lucy are on dozens of Stax session mega-hits. There were a few \u201cLucys\u201d in his career apparently, the \ufb01rst reportedly stolen, the second underwent severe damage in a tornado. The guitar is light, practical for touring and long shows. When asked about the squared off thin waist, she said \u201cThere\u2019s room for a breast.
