Profoto described the B1 as the first monolight with TTL capabilities. Using their own AirTTL system, these strobes would work with various camera brands to create fast, accurate exposures. Since the B1 hit the streets, Profoto has continued to grow the OCF line and today introduces the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.adorama.com\/pp901028.html\">B1X<\/a>, designed to give even more versatility to a photographer on the go. With a longer battery life, more range in HHS and a brighter modeling light, the B1X continues to move the OCF line forward.<\/p>\n<div class=\"gallery\"><div id=\"slickGallery\" style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Most photographers realize that having the freedom of battery powered lighting will help them create the images they imagine no matter the location. This has been reflected in the \u201csmall flash\u201d movement of recent years. The main issue with small flashes though is limited power when working against existing light. This often leads to \u201ctrees\u201d of small flashes linked together on stands to create enough light to match or overpower daylight. As you know, with Profoto High-Speed Sync (HSS) it\u2019s easy to get those shallow DOF shots even in the brightest light as you are able to sync at shutter speeds up to 1\/8,000s. The B1X takes this to the next level allowing HSS in the full 9 f-stop range for all compatible cameras, how many times have you needed just a stop more shutter to get the look you want in dim location?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The beauty of the B1X is how it allows photographers to just shoot what they imagine, removing the restriction of cords, power, and even sync speeds. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Quick and easy to set-up, a photographer, \u00a0whether they use Canon, Nikon, Sony or Olympus can set the B1X in position, and focus on interacting with their subject while the AirTTL does the math so to speak.
