To lower costs significantly, Olympus dropped three of the less popular “art filter” modes that were introduced among much ballyhoo in the E-620<\/a>, as well as variable aspect ratios and two-shot multiple exposure. However, the camera is expected to hit the streets in November for around $600 including the ED 14-42mm f\/3.5-5.6 Zuiko lens\u2014$100 less than the cost of the E-620.<\/p>\n

The E-600 retains the E-620’s swivel 2.7-inch LCD monitor, four frames per second burst rate, and 12.3MP sensor, in-camera image stabilization, face detection, dust reduction, and Live MOS view. It also retains the Pop Art, Soft Focus and Pin Hole “art filter” modes.<\/p>\n
