Fuji<\/a><\/span> users like to divide the world into two groups: There are those who shoot with Fuji cameras, and those who don’t yet<\/i> shoot Fuji. That second group may become much smaller now that Fujifilm has announced a significant addition to its lineup for the everyday photographer. Fuji has just released the details for the brand new X-T100<\/a> camera body and lens kit, which will bring high-quality mirrorless photography much closer for beginners to the Fuji X line. <\/span><\/p>\n

To understand exactly where this body falls in the Fuji camera collection, what does the X-T line offer? Basically, Fuji is offering in their X-T line a series of high-performance cameras with DSLR-like styling \u2014  the electronic viewfinder (EVF) is where the optical viewfinder would be on a DSLR \u2014 and lens flexibility, but closer to compact camera size and at a lower cost than similarly specced DSLRs. <\/span><\/p>\n

Fuji has already released four cameras in the X-T line before this one: The X-T1 and X-T10 were released in 2014 and 2015 respectively, and they were both updated the following two years when the X-T2<\/span><\/a> and the X-T20<\/span><\/a> were released. The single digit designated X-T1 and X-T2 cameras were used by many as pro-level mirrorless cameras, at a time when “pro-level” and “mirrorless” were not really words people put together. The double-digit X-T10 and X-T20 were intended for the advanced amateur who didn\u2019t need the ruggedness or speed of the higher-level X-T1 or X-T2. <\/span><\/p>\n

With this new model, the X-T line opens up at a lower price point while still offering a high quality and more lightweight option than its DSLR cousins. And by “lightweight” I\u2019m talking about weight (448 grams, or 15.8 ounces), not about its features.
