DJI, the leading global manufacturer of drones, has done it again. Today, the company released two new revolutionary Mavic 2 series drones<\/a>: the Mavic Pro 2<\/a> and Mavic 2 Zoom<\/a>, that will make all aerial photographers and videographers very happy.<\/p>\n

With the world becoming more and more used to drone content, DJI made it their goal to listen to content creators, and when they asked for \u201ca drone that feels like a DSLR in the sky,\u201d they delivered. These two new drones can create breathtaking content previously unattainable \u2014 or even impossible \u2014 with a drone or equipment at the size and weight of the Mavic Pro 2 drones<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Both the Mavic 2 Pro<\/a> (<\/span>) and Mavic 2 Zoom<\/a> (<\/span>) continue where their predecessor left off, with portability and foldability at the foundation of the drones’ design. Both are roughly the size of a Nalgene water bottle in width and length, and once you hear about all the advanced features, it\u2019s hard to imagine how they fit it all into such a small body. <\/p>\n

The new Mavic 2 series drones are powerful. Both drones have a 31-minute flight time, which is the longest flight time for any consumer drone, a max speed of 44 mph in sport mode (with no wind conditions), and feature a new DJI “low-noise” flight technology, making them some of the quietest drones you can buy.<\/p>\n

The new Mavic 2 series drones prioritize safety, and feature an advanced OcuSync 2.0 Digital Video Transmission System with a signal range of up to five miles in 1080p transmission, as well as Omnidirectional Obstacle Sensing, which has obstacle sensors on all sides of the aircraft. The Advanced Pilot Assistance Systems (APAS) allows the drone to avoid front or backward collisions mid-flight. They even built a bottom auxiliary light into the drones that shines during a landing in low-light conditions and aids bottom obstacle sensors.<\/p>\n

The new Mavic 2 series drones are intelligently built. Both drones feature a 3-axis gimbal, which provides smooth and professional footage in even the toughest conditions, internal storage built-in, similar to the Mavic Air, and improved features like enhanced HDR photos that increase dynamic range and limit unwanted noise, as well as \u201cHyperlight,\u201d which adds an effective low-light setting and enhances quality and reduces noise.<\/p>\n

Finally, the new Mavic 2 series drones are easy to fly, even when shooting footage and creating content at a professional level. Popular QuickShot flight modes like \u201cAsteroid\u201d and \u201cBoomerang\u201d remain, but DJI added the \u201cHyperlapse\u201d flight mode, which introduces a groundbreaking way to shoot beautiful time lapses from the air. There are also four modes that add flexibility and ease of use to this feature: Free, Circle, Courselock, and Waypoint.<\/p>\n

ActiveTrack 2.0 replaces the previous version that consumers loved, but offers far more accuracy and precision, as well trajectory prediction that can track subjects through advanced algorithms and stay on course, even if the subject is lost behind a tree, road curve, or other disturbance to the flight path. Active Track 2.0 capability increases, while still being able to go at top speeds and avoid obstacles, making it smart and safe.<\/p>\n

The Mavic Pro 2<\/a> (<\/span>) is built for top of the line image and video quality. Featuring a Hasselblad L1D-20c camera to produce content of the highest quality, the Mavic Pro 2 can now capture professional level content in a small, foldable, and portable package, which has never been offered on the consumer level before.<\/p>\n
