Most notably, Gitzo\u2019s ball head has a payload of 30 kilograms, or approximately 66 pounds, to support hefty telephoto lenses created for outdoor and wildlife photography. Photographers can attach 400-600mm lenses without worrying about instability or a wobbly mount. Of course, you don\u2019t have to be working with giant telephoto lenses to appreciate Gitzo\u2019s new product. The new ball head makes maneuvering any smaller lens a breeze, too.<\/p>\n<p>The professional ball head gives the option of two different plates: Gitzo\u2019s D Profile plates or Arca-Swiss type plates. Users can also take advantage of the ball head\u2019s fast lock feature to lock into place swiftly and securely.<\/p>\n<p>Another notable new feature of the Gitzo ball head is the fluid drag system on the pan axis. Ideal for capturing motion, the fluid drag system guarantees smooth tracking of moving subjects anywhere along the pan axis. Even if you\u2019re not capturing motion, a smooth pan axis is appreciated when aligning a still shot. At the heart of the product is the ball head itself. The ball head is a coated hollow-sphere that is capable of fostering smooth movement with the heaviest of lenses. Users will appreciate the fluidity of tilting and panning with the new Gitzo ball head.<\/p>\n<p>Although the ball head can support roughly 66 pounds, it weighs less than two pounds itself.
