\nThanks for sharing your beautiful work with us! How did you get started in photography?<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Ironically, macro photography. I became so fascinated with getting detailed close-ups of whatever-it-was, but I\u2019ve left that now, and haven\u2019t even owned a macro lens in some years.<\/i><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Ultimately, my passion for travel and the unexpected led me into awanderlust-fueled fervor for sharing my experiences.<\/i><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

With the abundance of negative Facebook posts, news, and so on filling our heads each day, I\u2019ve felt more driven to shed light on the mundane and share anything and everything I can find beauty in.<\/i><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

I know it sounds corny, but it drives me. The desire to explore the world and its inhabitants\u2014and capture its glory\u2014is impossible to ignore.<\/i><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\nHow would you define your photography style?<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Adventurephotography meets candid portraiture.<\/i><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

I\u2019m a big fan of natural light, simplicity, symmetry and color. Ideally, I\u2019d incorporate all these qualities into a pristinely lit nature or city scene and find a way to bringbalance to the beauty of what I see. Not everyone sees the world in the same light.<\/i><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

My goal when capturing a scene is to demonstrate to each viewer the ability of any locale to emit beauty and serenity, even through chaos. I always try to wipe away excessive details and distractions through idealized framing in order to build a story around said scene. Wanderlust-inducing stock, I always say.<\/i><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\nGreat philosophy! What tips do you have for other Instagramers?<\/b><\/span>
\nFind a style and stick with it.<\/i><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Oneof the best compliments a photographer can receive is someone recognizing one of your photos as yours without otherwise knowing. If you create your own unique style, set yourself apart, and make good images, youwill eventually become recognizable. Try to create imagery that catches the eye, tells astory, and maintains thatdiscernible aesthetic\u2014then, be consistent about it.<\/i><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Curate well and try not to over share or over-filter!<\/i><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Sometimes I find that subtlety isin fact king.<\/i><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\nWho are your favorite Instagramers to follow?<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

I really enjoy the work of @ravivora, @chrisburkard, and @dbahnphotos.<\/i><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

I find that each image they share is masterfully crafted and refined beyond belief. They tend to be images that evoke emotion and sophistication far beyond what one would expect of a 2×2 square.<\/i><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\nWhat equipment are you shooting with?<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Nikon D750<\/a>primarily, it\u2019s a great camera with good handling, dynamic range, and WiFi\u2014which makes for easy image sharing on the go.<\/i><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

I primarily use prime lenses such as theSigma 35mm 1.4 Art<\/a>(my personal favorite), theNikon 20mm 1.8<\/a>,Nikon 50mm 1.8<\/a>, and occasionally theNikon 80-200mm 2.8<\/a>.<\/i><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
