The Metaverse is quickly becoming a virtual reality. With so many companies jumping aboard the NFT world, it’s only a matter of time until we get a big announcement. After the first day of CES 2022<\/a>, many companies kicked the doors wide open with big CES news.<\/p>\n

Samsung<\/h2>\n

Samsung<\/a> <\/strong>gave us a virtual walkthrough of its new space in the Metaverse. Partnering with Asia\u2019s biggest Metaverse platform Zepeto<\/a>, users were able to experience the entire event online through the Zepeto app. Samsung has begun innovating within the Metaverse allowing users to create and decorate their own virtual home.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s not all. Samsung also empowers users to experience Samsung products which enhances brand awareness throughout the Metaverse. You can decorate your virtual home with Samsung products and \u201ctest\u201d out their products as well.<\/p>\n

This is a whole new world for brand interaction, which is starting to become the norm. Within the app is Photobooth, which allows users to take pictures with Samsung devices. There its also the Galaxy House, where users can play games with Galaxy devices. The Metaverse encourages creativity and imagination with your own customizable avatars, outfits, home furniture, and appliances.<\/p>\n

If that wasn\u2019t big enough, Samsung unveiled the ability to purchase NFTs through select Samsung TVs. One thing is for sure, Samsung seems to be all in in the Metaverse given this CES news.<\/p>\n

Sony<\/h2>\n

Sony<\/strong><\/a> unveiled their long-awaited\u00a0PS VR 2<\/strong><\/a>. The PS VR2 will be made for the PS5 console<\/a>, and will come with a new VR controller called the VR2 Sense Controller. You get a 110-degree field of view with a 4K HDR OLED display and frame rates of 90\/120Hz. You don’t need external as the headset has integrated cameras within.With new sensory features, the PS VR2 has eye tracking, headset feedback, 3D audio, and sense controllers for full immersion. Headset feedback amplifies the sensations of in-game actions with a built-in motor.<\/p>\n

Sony stated <\/a>that \u201cgamers can feel a character\u2019s elevated pulse during tense moments, the rush of objects passing close to the characters head…\u201d This sounds absolutely incredible. Can you imagine playing the newly announced Horizon Call of the Mountain and feeling the rustle of trees as you sneak through the forest? The PS VR2 can also detect the motion of your eyes which adds a new level of realism.<\/p>\n

Panasonic<\/h2>\n

Panasonic<\/a> VR glasses have made a comeback this year.\u00a0The MeganeX<\/strong><\/a> headset have a 120Hz MicroOLED display with optional temperature-altering immersion. This new feature creates a heating and cooling effect on the headset. Weighing only 8.8 ounces, the headset does need to be wired into a PC, but it is SteamVR compatible \u2014 which is a huge plus.<\/p>\n

HTC<\/h2>\n

New from\u00a0HTC<\/a>\u00a0is the Vive Wrist Tracker,<\/strong><\/a> which connects to the headset wirelessly. This device improves object direction in the virtual world. For example, if you were to hold a book or fire extinguisher, the wrist tracker would know which position you were holding it. The taser company Axon<\/a> has plans to integrate this in their VR training. This gives users more control in the virtual world.<\/p>\n

The virtual world continues to expand and each year we get closer to the Metaverse. Technology moves so quickly that who knows what CES 2023 will bring.
