{"id":81173,"date":"2022-03-03T09:59:34","date_gmt":"2022-03-03T14:59:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.adorama.com\/alc\/?p=81173"},"modified":"2022-03-03T13:09:38","modified_gmt":"2022-03-03T18:09:38","slug":"female-creator-spotlight-hayley-beauregard","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.adorama.com\/alc\/female-creator-spotlight-hayley-beauregard\/","title":{"rendered":"Female Creator Spotlight: Tech &#038; Gaming Marketer Hayley Beauregard"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>In this Female Creator Spotlight, we sat down with Hayley Beauregard to discuss her career so far, and what has inspired her as a tech and gaming marketer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What are your primary professional responsibilities?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>I\u2019m a Digital Marketing Specialist for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.adorama.com\/brands\/WD\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">WD_BLACK<\/a>. I run all of our social channels for the brand. In addition to this, I lead the brand\u2019s Twitch strategy in terms of streaming and digital events. Finally, I also help handle and drive our influencer strategy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Why did you decide to enter your industry? And can you tell me about that journey?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>I joined Western Digital right out of college into a rotational program. I knew I wanted to do marketing: however, I didn\u2019t know what type of marketing. Honestly, I kind of stumbled into this role. I was a huge gamer and my manager at the time knew it. The WD_BLACK brand was just getting off the ground when I joined. The team found my expertise valuable and after rotating through the WD_BLACK team, I knew I had found my place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1000\" height=\"667\" src=\"https:\/\/www.adorama.com\/alc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/IMG_0470.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-81224\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.adorama.com\/alc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/IMG_0470.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/www.adorama.com\/alc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/IMG_0470-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><figcaption>Hayley (on the far left) with coworkers representing WD_Black<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Who do you consider to be your professional inspirations or role models?&nbsp;<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>I\u2019m very inspired by Lisa Su. She\u2019s the CEO of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.adorama.com\/brands\/AMD\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">AMD<\/a> and is so inspiring as a woman in this industry. Every time there is a new AMD announcement, I get chills as I watch Lisa walk out on that stage. Her stage presence for launch events is unmatched \u2014 in my opinion. I truly consider Lisa Su to be a huge inspiration to me and I still look up to her to this day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>How do you believe your gender identity has impacted your career?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>I believe my gender has impacted my career in many ways. I am proud to be a woman and almost everyone knows it. The biggest way it has impacted my career is in choosing influencers. I always make sure to include female influencers in every activation we are doing. I have found that there are brands who shy away from working with women and I never want WD_BLACK to be seen that way.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What would you consider to be the most challenging part of your job?&nbsp;<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>I would consider driving our Twitch strategy to be the most challenging part of my job. I \u2014 along with three other coworkers \u2014 started our<a href=\"https:\/\/www.adorama.com\/alc\/everything-you-need-to-know-about-twitch\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"> Twitch<\/a> channel back in July of 2020. Since then, we have launched products, held influencer interviews, co-streamed award shows, and held multiple digital events. Creating this strategy and keeping the channel fresh is definitely the hardest part of my job.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What advice would you pass on to other women to help them progress in this industry?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>My biggest piece of advice is to network as much as you can. Create a support system of women in your company and empower them. I was able to find women in my company who now serve as my biggest advocate for different projects. I was able to find a community in my company and I hope everyone can.
