Spanning through the heart of New York City, the parade route along Central Park West and 6th Avenue offers diverse shooting opportunities. However, navigating this bustling event requires strategic preparation. From essential camera gear to optimal vantage points, here&#8217;s a guide on what photographers should pack and how to make the most of the event this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Route&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The parade will kick off at West 77<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0Street and Central Park West at 9am ET on Thanksgiving morning. You\u2019ll have limited viewing options on 77<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0and 76<sup>th\u00a0<\/sup>so it\u2019s best to stick within the street range above.\u00a0Once the parade hits 59<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0(Columbus Circle), it will turn toward Central Park South: therefore, avoid 59<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0and 60<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0street since it will be closed off to crowds.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Another great viewing spot is anywhere on 6<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0Avenue between West 59th and West 38<sup>th<\/sup>.
