As a photographer and content creator, I decided to test it out a few of its different features. In my work, I often document the process of creating props for photoshoots, while also filming behind the scenes and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.adorama.com\/alc\/shooting-time-lapse-video\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">creating time lapses<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/NTOMykOQXdE\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\">&amp;lt;\/p&amp;gt;<\/iframe><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>My first impression of the new Nikon Z 30 Camera was, &#8220;Wow, it\u2019s so small!&#8221; It\u2019s extremely lightweight and compact, even compared to other <a href=\"https:\/\/www.adorama.com\/alc\/mirrorless-cameras-vs-dslr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">mirrorless<\/a> cameras. At only 350 grams, it may be the smallest camera I ever used. It\u2019s very comfortable to hold in my hands. For a petite person such as myself, this is a big advantage. But don\u2019t let the small size fool you. It\u2019s extremely helpful for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.adorama.com\/alc\/5-accessories-to-improve-your-vlogs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">vlogging<\/a>, or to film yourself without a tripod. While testing the camera out, I relaxed and forgot about changing focusing points to hit the right spot. Instead, I concentrated on more important things \u2014 like telling a story. Although, you can always tap on the screen to focus on something else. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1000\" height=\"563\" src=\"https:\/\/www.adorama.com\/alc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/Nikon-Z30.00_02_24_23.Still017.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-85618\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.adorama.com\/alc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/Nikon-Z30.00_02_24_23.Still017.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/www.adorama.com\/alc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/Nikon-Z30.00_02_24_23.Still017-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.adorama.com\/alc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/Nikon-Z30.00_02_24_23.Still017-825x465.jpg 825w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><figcaption>Photo by Anya Anti<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The flip screen turns into a self-portrait mode when facing you. You can easily <a href=\"https:\/\/www.adorama.com\/alc\/how-to-take-a-good-selfie\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">take a selfie<\/a> by just setting a timer and tapping your screen. Because it\u2019s so lightweight, when paired with the tiny 16-50mm lens, I was able to take a selfie photo using just one hand \u2014 just as I would do with my phone. It also has a focusing mode where the camera shifts the focus from you onto whatever you put in front of the camera. This works well if you want to show a product or \u2014 in my case \u2014 a finished piece of a prop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1000\" height=\"563\" src=\"https:\/\/www.adorama.com\/alc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/Nikon-Z30.00_00_41_21.Still005.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-85614\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.adorama.com\/alc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/Nikon-Z30.00_00_41_21.Still005.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/www.adorama.com\/alc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/Nikon-Z30.00_00_41_21.Still005-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.adorama.com\/alc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/Nikon-Z30.00_00_41_21.Still005-825x465.jpg 825w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><figcaption>Photo by Anya Anti<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Intuitive Touchscreen<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Nikon Z 30 has many new technologies, but is so simple to use and navigate with its intuitive ergonomics. I especially loved using the touchscreen because it was so quick and easy to change between settings. I didn\u2019t have to go into the menu, but could actually do everything on the screen. It also has two custom buttons that you can program however you like.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1000\" height=\"563\" src=\"https:\/\/www.adorama.com\/alc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/Nikon-Z30.00_01_21_17.Still010.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-85623\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.adorama.com\/alc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/Nikon-Z30.00_01_21_17.Still010.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/www.adorama.com\/alc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/Nikon-Z30.00_01_21_17.Still010-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.adorama.com\/alc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/Nikon-Z30.00_01_21_17.Still010-825x465.jpg 825w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><figcaption>Photo by Anya Anti<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Photo to Video, with Ease<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>When you hit a \u201crecord\u201d button, the Nikon Z 30 turns on a red lamp in the front of the camera body indicating that it\u2019s recording. But the coolest thing is that you can create stills without interrupting the video. There&#8217;s no need to stop the recording process to take a photograph!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nikon Z 30 also has an amazing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.adorama.com\/alc\/shooting-time-lapse-video\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">time lapse<\/a> feature. When creating a time lapse, it gives you stills and a finished video right in camera. There&#8217;s no need for additional software and spending time stitching images into a time lapse on your computer. This is a huge timesaver.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1000\" height=\"563\" src=\"https:\/\/www.adorama.com\/alc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/Nikon-Z30.00_01_30_17.Still011.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-85625\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.adorama.com\/alc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/Nikon-Z30.00_01_30_17.Still011.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/www.adorama.com\/alc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/Nikon-Z30.00_01_30_17.Still011-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.adorama.com\/alc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/Nikon-Z30.00_01_30_17.Still011-825x465.jpg 825w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><figcaption>Photo by Anya Anti<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Aside from recording, you can <a href=\"https:\/\/www.adorama.com\/alc\/how-to-live-stream-step-by-step\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">live stream<\/a> as well. The Nikon Z 30 would be a great upgrade for a web camera. It only has one cable for video output and power. You just need to connect a microphone to your computer and you\u2019re good to go!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">More Features for Content Creators<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>I think this camera would be perfect for content creators, vloggers, YouTubers and creatives who like to document their work process. It has a large sensor, which gives you an overall better image quality. You get a wider <a href=\"https:\/\/www.adorama.com\/alc\/understanding-focal-length-and-how-to-use-it\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">focal length<\/a> range coverage by using different lenses, and can give you a natural blurred background and shallow depth of field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1000\" height=\"563\" src=\"https:\/\/www.adorama.com\/alc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/Nikon-Z30.00_01_09_08.Still009.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-85615\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.adorama.com\/alc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/Nikon-Z30.00_01_09_08.Still009.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/www.adorama.com\/alc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/Nikon-Z30.00_01_09_08.Still009-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.adorama.com\/alc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/Nikon-Z30.00_01_09_08.Still009-825x465.jpg 825w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><figcaption>Photo by Anya Anti<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The new Nikon Z 30 Camera  also allows you to transfer content via WiFi and Bluetooth by Nikon\u2019s Snap Bridge app. I use it as a remote control all the time, but you can also transfer photos and short clips onto your smart device to post on social media. This is a perfect feature for those who are producing content for immediate sharing. You can post Instagram stories, TikToks, or any other social content right away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You&#8217;ll receive two DX crop sensor lenses with the kit: the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.adorama.com\/nkz1650.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Nikkor Z DX 16-50mm f\/3.5-6.3 Lens<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.adorama.com\/nkz50250.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Nikkor Z DX 50-250mm f\/4.5-6.3 Lens<\/a>.
