This has only been heightened for\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.adorama.com\/brands\/Nikon\">Nikon<\/a>\u00a0camera users as the company recently announced the development of two new lenses for full-frame (FX-format) Nikon Z series mirrorless cameras. The new\u00a0<strong>NIKKOR Z 85mm f\/1.2 S Lens<\/strong>\u00a0and the\u00a0<strong>NIKKOR Z 26mm f\/2.8 Lens<\/strong>\u00a0provide Nikon users more options to enhance their creative toolkit. The 85mm option will be an\u00a0ultrafast mid-telephoto prime lens. Aside from the confirmed focal length and maximum aperture, it\u2019s also suspected to have an 82mm front filter (based on the product image). This would be the same as the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.adorama.com\/alc\/nikon-expands-z-series-with-nikkor-z-14-24mm-f-2-8-50mm-f-1-2-lenses\/\">NIKKOR 50mm 1.2 lens<\/a>\u00a0released in 2020.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Nikon also claims you can expect \u201clarge, beautiful bokeh\u201d from the lens. This would make it especially desirable to portrait photographers \u2014 specifically in wedding or fashion photography \u2014 given its 1.2 f-stop. With it being a slightly smaller version of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.adorama.com\/nkz2828n.html\">NIKKOR 28mm f2.8 lens<\/a>, you can expect the lens to be extremely lightweight and compact. While we don\u2019t have exact measurements or weight just yet, the 28mm\u2019s 52mm filter size and weight of 5.5 oz. provides some clues that this new 26mm will be just as portable. This ultra wide-angle lens is likely to prove itself as a worthy option for Nikon wedding and event photographers who work in low-light conditions often. Its compact size will also work nicely for travel and street photographers.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>This is fresh news from Nikon and, therefore, we don\u2019t have many details about this release just yet. The lenses are in development, but Nikon has not yet released a preorder date.
