Social platforms like Tumblr and Instagram have made it easier than ever for talented photographers to show off their work \u2014 but it still takes some digging to get through the too-close pictures of food to find the ones who will really inspire you.<\/span><\/p>\n

Here are some of our favorite emerging photographers \u2014 the ones whose names you may not have know yet, but will definitely be hearing in the near future.<\/span><\/p>\n

\nOlivia Bee <\/a><\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The word \u201cprecocious\u201d was created for this 19-year-old wunderkind out of Portland, Oregon. Bee, who largely credits Flickr and the accidental assignment to a photography class in junior high for her success, was just 14 when she got her first commercial work, and hasn\u2019t stopped since. Her work has appeared in VICE and the New York Times, and she\u2019s worked with big international brands like Hermes and Fiat.<\/span><\/p>\n

Collin Hughes<\/span><\/a><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

\nThe list of clients that Collin Hughes has worked with reads like an urban 20something\u2019s handbook \u2014 Warby Parker, All Saints, Bonobos, Epitaph Records \u2014 which is only a good thing for the New York native who says he loves to tell brand stories through compelling visuals. But it\u2019s not all commercial work for Collin; He\u2019s also taken his camera to some seriously remote places (Antarctica, anyone?) to capture all the beauty that nature has to offer.<\/span><\/p>\n

Brent Lewis<\/span><\/a><\/h4>\n

Like so many photographers, Chicago-based Brent Lewis\u2019s interest in the artform started when someone \u2014 in this case, his grandfather \u2014 lent him an old camera. Now, Brent is a staff photographer at the Rockford Register Star, where his compelling candids and portraits lend emotional value to news and sports reporting. Brent is also keenly tuned in to social issues; his series \u201cA Place To Call Home\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/a> focuses on poverty in his native Chicago.<\/span><\/p>\n

\nMilly Colley is a familiar name to fans of trade papers like Photography Monthly and Turning Pro magazine, who have featured her work more than once. Focusing on fashion and femininity, Colley\u2019s dreamy pastoral landscapes and portraits bring out the girly-girl in all of us.<\/span><\/p>\n

Kyle Johnson<\/span><\/a><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Kyle is also a skilled portrait photographer, and regularly turns his lens toward another of his loves \u2014 elegant, West Coast food and drink.<\/span><\/p>\n
