New to this model is an upgraded zoom lens that now reaches to 12x magnification and what Nikon calls Dynamic Zoom, which effectively doubles the focal range by enlarging the pixels. While this is a large screen for a digital camera, it is more like the screen size you&#8217;d find on a smart phone. In fact, its size makes it more comfortable to use apps, watch videos, and browse the web via the camera&#8217;s built-in Wi-Fi connectivity. Designed to be a compact one-lens-does-almost-everything solution for travel photographers, the new version is a bit smaller (and to accommodate its slimmer contours, the maximum aperture at full zoom is 6.3 instead of 5.6). With the APS sensor crop factor, the lens&#8217;s 35mm equivalent focal range is 27-450mm. Thanks to its diminutive size and weight it pairs well with the Nikon D3300 and D5300 DSLRs.<\/p>\n<p>Nikon claims the lens&#8217;s built-in Vibration Reduction technology provides an additional 4 stops of shake-free hand-held shooting, making it suitable for low-light shooting despite its smaller aperture range.
