This mic worked fine before windows 10 but after we upgraded the mic is no longer detected, there is no help from the MFG or Microsoft so... its a door stop unless someone has a work around that i have not found.

The voice quality is good but there is just a constant internal buzzing that never gets fixed. I definitely wouldn't recommend this to anyone starting out.

The naysayers must have got a defective one. It does the job very well for my home setup, which involves spoken work.

This product is great for anyone who's looking for a cheap but good quality mic!! I been using it for awhile now and I don't regret spending my money on it! However there is times that the mic cord has a hard time but betides that everything is just amazing!

I have used this device for six months, but I do travel with the device and have found that this device is not meant to travel. The small prongs at the base used for the USB connection are not meant to be plugged in over and over again even though I am very careful. Even going as far as purchasing a separate carry case for the microphone to go into. The USB cord now makes intermittent connections with the four prongs causing it to disconnect with the computer if the cord is not positioned just right, and is not hit accidentally during recording.

I just got this microphone and when I went to plug it in my audio coming through my headphones stopped working. I tried rebooting, changing headphones, unplugging the mic but still no sound except for skype. I have windows 8 and I noticed that there was no setup info for windows 8. Overall it is a good mic if you have anything but windows 8

I doesn't even work with my computer! I tried everything. Overall, this was a complete waste of my time and I am better off buying a new microphone.

This microphone is a great way to get started with a majority of projects. I personally use it for Voice Acting and Vocals. I have received several compliments on having professional sound quality. I highly recommend purchasing this microphone!

Hi. I love this mic... for the first day until I turned off my computer. Then I turned it on and plugged in the microphone. There was a notification saying, "The last usb device that you plugged in is not recognized by windows." I looked all around the internet and nothing. I even looked here. I have windows 8 and I updated it today. After that it was unrecognizable. I'm frustrated! Please help me I need help. Thank you.

Bought the mic over a year ago but didn't use it until earlier this summer for voiceover and other recording. The mic is easy to use and is easily recognizable by my Mac. The headphone connection is very helpful. I love it. The stand, though, is not good. The thread stripped far too easily and I'm trying to find a way to replace it. I don't love it. At all. This would have been a five star review if the stand hadn't failed. (apologies. review was mistakenly posted by me as a comment)

If you are curious about doing voice-overs and want to record test tracks, this portable mic is great. I've had success using it in "live" environments as well as when hooking up to a laptop for recording slide notes. I also use it for webcasts at my desk - the room's "live" with background noise. The mic seems to help limit some of the background sound issues because of it's cardioid pickup. If you have a sound booth or recording environment, choose one of the better Audio-Technica mics (AT2020, 2035 or 2041). The price is great. However, the quality is a bit dodgy. The first one I received stopped working immediately. The second one is still going strong. Two things irritate me about this mic. The headphone jack is nice idea, but not practical. Every time I touch the headphone cable, the sound goes right to the mic. And, the volume buttons might as well not be there. They rattle and feel very cheap.

I got this mic 3 months ago at a brick and mortar store. It worked great with no problems at all for skype and video recording. WAY better sound quality than my built-in mic or headsets. Yesterday, it stopped working properly. Now it just records loud static. I tried using different USB cables and different computers and different recording software... all with the same result: STATIC.

After buying this product to my dismay I found that while it worked on my laptop running Windows 7, Windows 8 could not find a driver for it. I am extremely dissatisfied with this as I was planning on mainly using the mic with my desktop.

I bought this to record voice-overs for training screencasts. Setup was quick and easy (Win7) and the recording quality is excellent. It's a solid microphone that I suspect will last forever.

Great quality mic for voice work. I produce television and interment programming and love the versatility of the mic. Use it as a table mic, scissor arm or boom. Full sound, deep and rich. My money well spent on this addition to my equipment. Only one negative - cheap stand included broke during assembly. Still worth it without the stand.

Our student Radio station does a lot of bumpers that follow the broadcasted music. We place the ATR250USB Microphone on a desk stand, plug in to the USB computer input, add the device to our sound editing software, and create the bumpers. The headphone jack allows for quick and easy monitoring. We love it for interviews also.

1. IT'S REALLY PLUG and PLAY; as in no drivers to install on Windows Vista or 7 at all! I have it plugged in to my Linux machine (Umbuntu Variant) right now and it was issue free. I haven't tried it on my Mac yet but I doubt there will be any problems. 2. SOLID QUALITY FEEL; I have not owned the mic long enough to speak to it's durability or reliability, but it does have a nice weight, solid metal construction and very little plastic used (monitoring interface built into the mic and volume buttons on interface are plastic). The desktop mic stand is entirely plastic however, it does it's job but feels cheap. I had a solid metal weighted base desktop stand already and mounted the mic no problem. 3. NICE NATURAL SOUNDING MIC, this mic could be a great home studio mic, it does a good job picking up and reproducing the vocal frequency range and yet it is not an overly sensative mic at all. I haven't needed a pop filter yet. I think this mic has potential for a diverse array of uses for the studiophile, works great for internet talk radio, Skype and other VoIP apps. Records into SoundForge and Audacity nicely. 4. AMAZING FEEDBACK REDUCTION; there is a built in headphone port on the mic itself, this allows for instance a vocalist to hear the playback of the music track while monitoring his or herself over the track. Anyone who has spent time in a studio knows a hot mic and playback of anything at all through the studio monitors (loudspeakers) equals nightmare. I can get away with it with this mic though, I just plug the speakers into the headphone port on the mic and play music or youtube on the computer, sound comes through the usb mic to the speakers while the mic is hot and what should sound like a trainwreck sounds good, and I can talk into the mic and hear myself on top of whatever is playing, and even be recording the whole thing! And it sounds good. I of course arranged the speakers to project away from the mic. Good job Audio Technica. It was a steal for what I got it at Adorama. Almost broke a smile...
