Will not support much

The shelf is made from particle board and then painted. The shelf connects to the stand via four metal hooks that pivot on a rivet that has been put through the board. The problem comes when you put anything of significant weight on the board, the board bends relatively easily, and pulls the legs of the stand. It is not a stable product, and I would not recommend it to anyone wishing to place anything on it in excess of 3-5 lbs.
