About Boris FX BAAFXMLM

The Boris Fx AAF Transfer and Boris xML Transfer Bundle for Mac (Download) is a software bundle that contains an AAF plug-in that allows you to export AAF files from Apple FCP (Final Cut Pro) sequences and import them into Avid Media Composer/Avid DS and a XML transfer plug-in that allows you to transfer FCP program sequences to After Effects.

The Boris Fx AAF transfer plug-in transfers images and video clips while preserving alpha information and entire live FCP program sequences can be transferred along with media, markers, cuts, dissolves, filters and audio. In addition, BCC (Boris Fx Continuum Complete) filters and transitions along with keyframed changes that are applied to clips in the FCP timeline are also retained during transfer. With this plug-in, sequences can be edited and completed in the Media Composer or DS timeline without having to export files back to FCP for editing.

Using the Boris Fx AAF Transfer software, you can translate many of Final Cut Pro's Motion Tab features that include basic motion, crop, opacity and speed. You can also convert FCP's built-in text generators into Avid Title Tool effects. Many of FCP's time-based effects are supported by the AAF Transfer plug-in.

The Boris Fx xML transfer plug-in is compatible with 64-bit platforms and provides support for Adobe After Effects CS5. All trimmed FCP clips can be edited in Adobe After Effects as stepped-up or stepped-down layers.

Audio levels, pans and cross-fades are accurately preserved and effects settings and keyframe animations are fully translated while preserving multi-clip edits. During transfer from FCP to After Effects, user marks, comments and labels for clips and sequences and all user-defined names are maintained. The QuickTime-based media files are transferred to After Effects without the need for transcoding or file duplication. It is compatible with Boris Fx Continuum Complete and Final Effects Complete, which provides the same look and keyframe values for every parameter.
