The head on this is so smooth, it really makes shooting video a pleasure, with a DSLR or a camcorder. I prefer the legs on this to the wing-nut type legs on the comparable model as they're easier to close.

The head on this tripod is so smooth and nice for video that it is inspiring to use, and really makes projects more enjoyable. I first owned this head with the 055XDB legs which have wing-nut locks and are more cumbersome to set up. The combo of this incredibly nice head and the quick-release legs is a great value. It fits in the Giottos Professional Padded Tripod Case GTAA1252.

Bought for a HDSLR for video. This particular head does not hold the camera securely enough from tipping forward or backward when using a heavy lens. I'm returning it for a refund.
