Review Summary
Macro Photography is a comprehensive guide to the wonderful and sometimes esoteric world of close-up and macro imaging. Aimed at the novice or the photo enthusiast, the book lays out in detail the equipment and techniques for capturing true macro images, the "macro" mode on standard DSLRs, and the use of zoom lenses, wide-angle lenses, dedicated macro lenses, teleconverters, bellows, and reversing rings.
Everything from exposure and metering, to light, color, and flash is intricately described and there's also practical advice on composition and focusing techniques. Project ideas include success with flower photography, capturing the textures of materials such as bark and lichen, abstracts from everyday objects, photographing insects, and studio work with food and jewelry.
