BlackRapid ConnectR-2 Second Generation / Locking Carabiner

I use the BlackRapid double shoulder strap to support Nikon D4 and D300 cameras. I like the strap in general but experienced a broken connect in less than six months. A replacement was purchased but installing it is impossible without cutting the stitches in the strap. It will probably require a shoe repair shop to replace. BlackRapid has not responded to my complaint after two weeks.

Time will tell if these hold up better than the original clips for my copycat double strap system. They fit perfectly and seem like they could be made from better metal.

I purchased this in the event I would ever need to replace the one that was included with the purchase of my RS-4 sling. Nothing worse than being on a trip and needing a necessary part.
