Works great on RED Komodo

Kind of pricey for what it is, but works great on RED Komodo. Love that it makes a full frame lens it?s true focal length on crop sensor like c70 or Komodo, but it also acts as a barrier to stop dust from reaching the sensor when changing lenses.

 

Must have for a C70

This was part of a FREE giveaway when I purchased my C70 and man am I glad I got it. I have YEARS of EF-L glass at my studio and this makes it all worth keeping around.

This adapter converts light transmission from full-frame to Super 35mm image format. It extends the angle of view and optical sensitivity, while seamlessly integrating with the camera's optical corrections. mount adapter.

Adorama Staff  Kenyon appears to have hands on experience but there is an argument for this on an EOS R. If you are using the camera to film in 4K this should combat the crop (not entirely but close). The EOS R cropped 4K, super 35 and APSC all have similar image circles. A smarter way of doing that might be to just run a wider angle EF-S lens with a normal adapter as you can get a 10-18 and an adapter for less than this. The way I look at this adapter for anything other than a c70 is it is an expensive way to turn a full frame EF lens into a very fast RF-S (not a real thing) lens. This is not particularly useful in general as there are no APSC RF cameras at the moment.
KENYON G  Short answer, no. Long answer, you can use it but it will not work as intended. The R series cameras are not compatible and the camera shows a dialogue confirming this. Ignoring the dialogue, the image is extremely vignetted and the effect is more along the lines of something you get through a Lens Baby effect lens. This adapter is designed for the C70 with its Super 35 sensor and not an R or R6 or R5 with its full frame sensor.
