Coronado Double Stacking Narrowband Element Front Unit 40mm and Tmax for use with a Solarmax 40 filter set or telescope. Please Note: Can not be used without a secondary interference blocking filter.

This is a genuine SolarMax 40 / T-Max unit that will, when properly matched, narrow your bandpass to 0.5 angstroms. Greatly increasing the amount of surfacedetail you can see and image with your SolarMax 40 telescope. The unit is a second SolarMax 40 filter and T-Max just like the primary unit on all SolarMax 40 Telescopes. The new unit will fit directly to the front of your existing unit, by means of a adaptor plate.

While some SolarMax 40 filters will be optically matched to create the more narrow bandpass Coronado strongly recommends that the customer send their SolarMax 40 Telescope to Coronado so that our technicians can find the ideal matching unit for your setup. Please contact us for more details. Coronado can't guarantee the performance of double stacked filters that are not matched by Coronado.

Please be aware that this matching process and sale price will result in waitingtimes to get your filter. We will work hard to minimize delays. Once double stacked a SolarMax 40 Telescope can be brought back to its original performance spec of 0.7A by removing the additional unit. The second filter will be unlikely to provide decent Ha images on its own as it has been built specifically for double stacking.
