Good light, great size and finish. After the first battery died it would not work with a new battery. I tried duracell, a generic brand, and even a coast AAA.

I love this little light. It fits perfectly in my pocket. The light is just bright enough to see exatly what it is focused on without bothering anyone around. To be quite honest, I have never seen such a perfect circle of light! It has also brought positve feedback from others as it is a great looking smooth, attractive light.

I love the heft of this little light. It inadvertantly went through the wash, twice, and once through the drier. The little guy was working perfectly. I opemed it to check to see if it had water inside. It was dry. Great EDC light for when you need a bit more light.

This is not a negative review, this is a review of a product that I bought thinking it might work for me. As with everything that is an unknown, that's what this turned out for me. I realized that this beautiful flashlight is not the proper tool for my needs. I deliver fuel, I pull a hose, and I am always looking deep into a tank, that I can't see much of, and the access is anywhere from a 2" opening to larger diameters. I needed more light, I tried this, I passed both of them on to a mechanic who was over joyed with how well this flashlight works.

I find the Coast small flashlights like the Crew A5 very useful tools. I keep one by the side of my bed for use if i get up at night. Keeps me from tripping over stuff in the dark, and being oriented when I'm half asleep. I also keep one in my car for use in emergencies. Not for flashing at other vehicles, but for looking around in the dark.

This light was on sale so I bought several of them, one for myself and the rest to give to friends and relatives. Although it would be nice to have multiple light levels, the simplicity and sturdy construction of this light make it a great choice. Also, since it is available in silver, it?s easier to find in a dark room than if it were black. It?s a nice little light.

I have horrible vision and work as an electrician which requires that my prescription lenses be rated same as safety glasses. I find myself having quite the time keeping my glasses from fogging and when I take them off it?s a struggle to see. With this little beam I?m able to see inside electrical j-boxes with extension rings. I added some neodymium magnets to the clip so I can attach it anywhere. If you don?t own one of these and they are on sale you should definitely buy 5-10 of them. You buy one your gonna be disappointed you didn?t buy more.

Nice light for work and EDC. This flashlight works very well. It has a protected on/off switch so that it doesn't turn on in a pocket. It is has a smooth casing so that it doesn't abrade through my shirt or pants pocket. The beam is a good size and power. The size and weight of the light is great for carrying in a pocket. AAA batteries are easy to find.

This is my new favorite flashlight. I have flashlights from some "enthusiast brands" recommended on forums, but the A5 is exactly what I wanted for an edc work flashlight. Single mode, stainless, and the spot beam are all ideal features for me. The only change I'd like to see would be swapping the metal button for a rubberized button since it can feel a little bit gritty clicking on/off. That's definitely not a deal breaker though, and I would definitely buy another if this one is lost or broken

Was on the market for a tiny penlight for looking into tight spaces. I?m psyched with how nice this thing is. Finish quality on this thing is great and it feels super high quality in my hand. I?m only using this for things relatively close so power isn?t my main concern. Love that the battery is a simple AAA, spares of which I am bound to have in a drawer. For what I?m doing, it?s perfect.

Coast Portland was not given copy approval nor any editorial input in this review. That means, they're reading this review for the first time along side you. These are the topics I will cover. I've noticed an issue with compatability with 10440 lithium-ion batteries ? The power button is made of metal, but is lose and rattles around while walking. I've tried multiple units, and all of them have this issue 2) What I like: ? I love the size and formfactor ? The fit and finnish is very nice ? It is heafty and feels premium ? I like the metal button, but it could be improved ? It has a momentary on mode which the G10, G15, and G19 do not 3) Build Quality/Overview: ? The light feels very premium with a sleek smooth body ? It is entirly made of super high strength stainless steel and is a bit heavier than you'd expect ? The front unscrews in order to remove the battery ? The button is a medium travel, high positive tactile button and is made of metal 4) Weight: ? 1.97 oz (55 grams). That's about the weight of 10 United States Quarters 5) Opperation and Modes: ? The operation of the light is controlled by one button on the back of the light ? There is only one mode ? There is a momentary on mode 6) Compatability Issue With 10440 Batteries: ? Although not desighned for use with lithium-ion 10440 batteries, I've tested and confirmed that It can run on the Coast ZX100 lithium-ion rechargeable battery ? There are tolerance issues with the manufacturing of the A5, meaning that the inside diameter of the battery tube isn't always the same. I own 3 of these lights, but the ZX100 battery can only fit into one of them and gets stuck in the other two. The battery works perfectly fine in the one that it fits in 7) Charging Port: ? No charging port built into the light itself. Instead, there is a Micro-USB charging port built into the Coast ZX100 battery 8) Battery and Charging: ? The light is powered by 1 alkiline AAA battery ? It can run on the Coast ZX100 or a standard 10440 battery. There is a compatability caviot though ? The ZX100 battery is a standard 10440 cell ? The ZX100 battery has a built-in Micro- USB charging port and a charging indicator on the top of the battery ? A solid red light indicates charging and a solid green light indicates the battery is fully charged 9) Performance On Lithium-ion Battery: ? I didn't notice any performance/brightness increase when running it on the optional ZX100 battery 10) Charge Time/Battery Satistics: ZX100: Rated Capacity: 200 mah Tested Capacity: 164 mah Built-In USB On Battery: Charge Speed: 310 mah Time: 36 minutes 11) Thoughts/Why I'd Go With The A5: It is a simple single AAA light, but Coast really knocked it out of the park with this one. I love it when companies make the simplest, everyday, throwaway items into works of art. This light looks absolutely fantastic and has a sleek classy look and feel. It is heavier than comparable lights, but that is due to its use of premium stainless steel over cheaper aluminum. I really like the button as it's just pleasant to press. The A5 is a tad smaller in height and diameter than, for example, the G10, G15, or G19. Its beam is more uniform than all three of them as well. I really love this light and I wish Coast would slightly modify it to be able to seemlesly accept the ZX100 as it would just make, an already fantastic light, even better. As of now, I'm quit hesitant to recommend using a ZX100 battery with this light as there is a rather high chance that it won't fit. Oh, and Coast, please fix the rattling power button. That is just annoying. I'd also love to see a variant of this light to be brighter and equipped with Coast's Pure Beam focusing optic. A light this tiny and premium with that feature would be on a whole new level.

We'd been having lots of power outages, and I was tired of my 'cheap' flashlights just not being dependable or they would just stop working for no apparent reason. My G45 is great! I went to the Coast website and bought a few Coast Crew A5s, for gifts and one was for my wife. Nice little flashlight for pocket or purse. Bright light for a small flashlight. Good price, lifetime warranty, waterproof (or resistent). My wife is very pleased with it. This would be hard to beat.

The title says it all. This flashlight is stainless steel solid. As soon as you pick it up you notice the weight and the incredible build. The recessed on/off button, the solid glass lens, the spotlight beam it produces all scream quality. Get more than one, if you don't you'll wish you had.

This is my wife's purse light. We have used it for everything. At night it is bright enough to find things on the ground lost on the ground in grass, like my wedding ring, so you could say I saved my life once.
