Battery pack is crap!
The light is fine. The battery pack is junk. I tried taking it apart and repairing it but no luck. It's very over engineered. It reminds me of some of the Heidelberg printing presses I've worked on. Coast should've just kept it simple and reliable. Bad design

Customer service is top notch. Durability?
Flashlight worked great for a while then removed the batteries and stuck it in cabinet by the kitchen. Needed it again so popped in some fresh batteries and it worked fine again. Until I tried to turn it off, stayed lit. Contacted customer service, told them what was going on, they asked for some pics, and shipped me a new one. Really hoping the replacement is a little more durable, but customer service seems top notch if not.

Very good light
I purchase this light a few years ago. The light went dark and it was replaced without cost or question. The quality of the product is determined by use, the quality of the manufacturer is warranty. Highly recommend both the light and Coast.

The Best Customer Service

Great bedstand light
This is two reviews in one.
The flashlight is very powerful and convenient to use. I keep it on the bedstand and use it as my go to light when I need one. The wide beam lights up a large area and the focused beam is excellent for long distance.
I had an old Coast flashlight that quit working after using it for home and work for more than ten years. Coast replaced it with this flashlight. They really stand behind their product.

needs Glow in dark sleeve
Nice--weighted well to hand. Bright and good distance. However, the fact that it is all black with a black pouch can be a BIG problem if you drop it in the dark and it is off. I had an old small flashlight with a rubber "glow-in-the-Dark" sleeve that fits over, this new light. Now we will be able to find in dark.

Great product, even better customer support.
Great product, I have a small service company and we own 10 to 12 of the Coast flash lights. These have been in service for 6 plus years. Recently 2 had problems with the battery holders.
I contacted Coast and both lights both were replaced within a few days.

I bought this flashlight 5+ years ago, after those 5+ years it did go bad. I simply reached out to customer service and within milliseconds, no exaggeration, I got a response. They immediately warranties and sent one out the next day. I was seriously surprised at how phenomenal their customer service is. Got the flashlight and it?s of such quality. Will be a customer for life

Amazing Customer Service
My PX 45 flashlight was ruined inside due to leaking batteries. I contacted Coast Customer Service in an effort to buy a new battery cartridge and was pleasantly surprised when they told me my flashlight was still in warranty (at least 4 years old. Coast replaced my flashlight at no cost other than shipping. All of this took place within a week and a half and I had the new PX 45 in hand! Awesome products and service. Thanks Coast!

Why COAST is the Best!
I have had a PX45 for 5 years and it is such a great heavy duty flashlight when it did not work I wanted to get another one and I had not remembered that these flashlights carry a lifetime warranty until I started shopping for a new one. When I contacted the company regarding my dilemma they promptly responded and replaced my flashlight. As a consumer it does not get any better than that. I have already shared my experience with many of my friends and my hat is off to the folks at COAST!

Just died.
Had it for a few years, so not a terrible loss. But it just died after not a lot of use. Maybe 50 hours. Tops.

Doesn’t last.
It does just ok. The lens comes loose causing dark spots.
They replaced it under warranty but within three months the new one done the same thing. Picture shows the sloppy beam.

Small, but Powerful
It is a great light for indoor and outdoor use. The beam focus is easily controlled and the narrow focused beam reaches out quite far.
I deducted one star for the switch setup. It really is cumberson for me. I would rather see a switch that selects "off", "low", and "high", (preferably on the barrel, not the rear) rather than a switch that cycles through the modes with "off" between each mode.
Very nice rugged flashlight otherwise.
