The next step in the evolution of the R2 dynasty.

Flashpoint introduces the next step in the evolution of the outstanding R2 Family. The eVOLV 200, with the heart of the world famous Streaklight 360 TTL and the soul of the ever popular XPLOR 600 TTL, compatible with R2 Canon, Nikon and Sony. A compact and efficient solution for travel, easy setup and the reliability of the R2 Wireless System. Never before has off camera lighting been so user friendly and masterful. It will change the way you harness your camera’s technology.

The new eVOLV 200 is not just a 200 watt second fully cordless TTL strobe, but an amazing miniaturized modular “SpeedMonoLight” system with interchangeable flash heads. You can snap in the best of traditional speedlite style Fresnel heads at GN170 (ft) or chose to use to the barebulb parabolic reflector head at GN 196 (ft) with super even spread, just by plugging it in. The incredible amount of power and control in these compact and lightweight flashes, make this design a first choice of professional photographers with an eye for flexible multiple light set up. The eVOLV 200 is the next evolution of the Flashpoint R2 radio system, totally compatible with the Canon, Nikon and Sony systems, for remote power control and shooting. With a focus on portable lighting, the R2 family frees your camera to go out and shoot at will.

The rewards of experience and innovation brings you an amazing miniaturized modular R2 2.4GHz wireless 200ws lithium powered TTL “SpeedMonoLight” with a max recycle time of under 2 seconds and enough energy to cover at least 500 full power shots. You can interchange the best of traditional speedlite style Fresnel heads at GN170 (ft) and shift to the super even spread of a Streaklight barebulb parabolic reflector head at GN 196 (ft), just by plugging it in. That gives more flexibility and instant solutions for multiple off camera lighting while maintaining all of the investment in light modifiers in the Streaklight and ZoomLion models. Add the pro LED modeling light feature and the picture is complete.

The basic eVOLV kit comes ready for almost any eventuality. Included in the case is a natty barndoor that accepts grids for the perfect accent light, and the ability to control light spill and flare, plus magnetized color gels for special effects. The included stand block accepts umbrellas and can mount the eVOLV 200 vertically or horizontally for exceptional coverage in umbrellas and softboxes. Twin eVOLV’s can be joined together with a stand bracket to make a 400ws blockbuster the similar to the size of two Zoom Lion’s. The battery recharge is a snap, too, using the external power charger to keep the action going without tying up the flash to reenergize.

Now you can enhance the R2 Family you started with welcome additions that are portable, versatile and exceptional talented – at birth.

R2. One Remote to Rule Them All.

The R2 TTL Wireless Flash System is the advanced 2.4GHz radio remote that adds camera TTL dedicated custom functions to your multi flash experience. Easy to use buttons command a full range of functions like reliable channel triggering, group mode selectivity, HSS, all with powerful signal strength and exceptional stability to your selected camera flash language. LED panels clearly display the status of all remotely linked R2 compliant strobes so you always have control of group lighting mastery. The proprietary TTL and HSS enabled 2.4GHz R2 Radio Remote System transmits atop a modern DSLR body with reliable TTL and pass-through to speedlights, plus laser AF assist. R2 transmitters work with the complete family of Flashpoint Zoom Speedlights, XPLOR600 Monolights and Streaklight Strobes with R2 TTL radio transceivers built right in. Add a R2 receiver to any legacy flash with a sync port and it too becomes part of the R2 Family! Mostly Great With A Few Minor Flaws

My unit just arrived yesterday. Overall, I'm quite happy with it. The form factor is great. It fills a much needed gap between traditional strobes, which are very portable but have limited power and can be cumbersome to use with light modifiers; units like the AD360, which are more powerful but cumbersome due to separate battery pack and cords; and battery powered monolights like the AD600/XPLOR600 which are self contained and powerful, but much bulkier and heavier. I consider the SMDV BRiH...

Nice But...

This item works well in morning or evening sun. Ok at midday. Great run and gun light. I do not like the attachment for the light stand and most mounts I have seen must be modified if you want to add a softbox. Otherwise, great first effort. I'm looking forward to seeing a mount made for this item. The included gels and barn doors are excellent.

The Right tool

Needed a flash a little stronger than my regular speedlite and was not as bulky as the 360 with the battery pack for when i travelling, this fit the bill perfectly. I am a happy camper .

Fantastic Portable Strobe

By

I am a Architectural/Real Estate Photographer and this thing is perfect for my needs. It is super powerful compared to standard speedlights but still small and easy to travel with. The bulb head is great for filling a room with light. The battery life is also really good. Have it all paired up with the new flash on camera flash controller and I couldn't be happier. My only nit is that the included light stand bracket doesn't really lock on the the strobe very well. It likes to swing around freely from the place you set it. Could use a lock nut on it to improve that part.

On location lighting

This item, which I call my mini strobe works like a charm. I will not take the place of a larger strobe always, but certainly can Most of the time particularly during the "magic Hours" And I think its Perfect as a hairlight on a boom. Ill be purchasing a couple more soon

Fantastic little light

By

I had purchased a couple of 600’s for studio work, and wanted something a little lighter weight and smaller. I wanted to find something that was used with the rest of the system so that they would work together. Not wanting to spend $ on one light, purchased the AD200. What a fantastic purchase it was. Since purchasing it, I have done a ton of research and found many photographers using the same light. The results are pretty fantastic. I’m looking forward to using this light more sense it is so compact, powerful, and works very well. I would certainly suggest anyone buying a few of these.

I bought this about a month ago, and I have put it through its paces, and I love it. So far I cannot say a bad thing about it.

Great Bargain in Lighting!

By

This is a great tool for off camera lighting. I picked up my second unit recently because it is just so easy to carry and easy to use. No power cords, no cables at all. Built-in receiver works every time along with the X1 transmitter. I love the fact that I can change the heads from Speedlight fresnel to studio light bare bulb depending on the job or look that I am after. The battery lasts forever between charges and the accessories are many and very affordably priced. This will become my go-to wedding and location lighting solution.

Questions about this item:

Shopper  Why Did You Choose This?
Gene T  After reading about this item online and testing out my neighbors system, I look forward to using this powerful, portable flash, at various locations.
CHRISTIAN I  Medium power monolight with speed lite form factor. What is not to like? And the included bare bulb head is a valuable option.
Rosemary H  This eVolv is very good if your traveling on the go. It takes up very little space in your camera bag. You will be surprised!!
Chioke B  I already had one of these units. The new special with the added Twin Head adapter made this purchase an easy decision. The eVOLV is a game changer. I sold all of my AlienBee heads for these. Even my beloved B1600...
Javon S  I plan to travel in Asia and need a smaller version of the AD600. By purchasing this kit with a carrying case, I feel confident that my load will be significantly lighter. Also I've heard only great things about this product. Hoping to use it for the first time and create some wonderful images for Vonphotography.
ROBERT D  Hooked up with a handle it becomes the Hammer of Thor :-) Powerful, compact, well made
RRRider R  Because it's very light and powerful. Allows me to have a small footprint during weddings.
James S W  I purchased the eVOLV 200 TTl because I: (1) am very pleased with my Flashpoint 360 Streaklight; (2) am very pleased with my R2 Strobe; and (3) need something smaller and quicker to handle than the Streaklight (and want occasional TTL), but with greater output than the R2 Strobe. The barebulb option on the eVOLV, and the Adorama sales price right now, make this an easy choice.
Shopper  how do i trigger my ev200 with my recently purchased mini zoom R2 for fuji? doesn't appear to be syncing.
WESLEY S  Your flash needs the latest firmware to work with the new Fuji and Oly triggers/flashes
MICHAEL S  use the optical slave custom function F2. There are two settings S1 and S2. S1 will trigger on the first flash (when using the other flash on manual) S2 will trigger on the second flash (when using the other flash on ttl). -Michael
Adrian O  Did u get the flashpoint r2 transmitter ? You also might need to upgrade the evolv 200 firmware.
Ron W  Make sure your settings are as follows: 1) both devices set to the same channel 2) TTL mini should be set to TTL 3) There are four sync settings on the Mini TTL (you cycle through them) --Optical (Flash symbol) Master --Optical (Flash symbol) Slave --Radio frequency Master --Radio frequency Slave The right setting for the TTL Mini is Radio Master (the symbol looks like a radio tower) The right setting for the Evolve is radio sync (and it defaults to slave, since it cannot be a master). That should do it. Getting both into the Radio Master and Radio Slave is not altogether intuitive, but keep cycling through the sync settings till you get there. At this point everything should sync. I've done this with two 685 flashes (one Sony, one Canon), the Evolv 200, one V860ii (canon), and one AD360ii (Canon)--each controlled by the ttlMini (Fuji version). You also need to go to the GODOX site and upgrade your evolv 200 to the latest firmware. The firmware downloader (PC only, unfortunately), works for Godox's products AND the equivalent Flashpoint products (they are identical except for branding.) The new Fuji compatible firmware for the evolv 200 came out about one month ago. The new firmware adds Fuji and Olympus/Panasonic protocols to the evolv 200. I hope this is helpful. Not as intuitive as it should be, but once you get the hang of it, it all works.
Michael C  Can this be paired with a Wescott 26" Octa? If so, what additional accessories are needed to make it work? Thank you.
Ben C  You can but you need to have a maybe a flash bracket and mount it on the cold shoe of the rapid box. Another option is to change the mount of the rapid box to a bowens mount but i haven't seen how its done. I have the glow parapop and i changed the speedring to a bowens mount and bought a bowens s-mount bracket and i was able to use it with the eVolve 200.
KING D  The Octa bracket is made for a speedlight that is taller than the Evolve. I made a small mount to raise the Evolve by bending a piece of aluminum and tapping a 1/4 hole in the bottom to screw on the bracket and a hole in the bsmf top to screw into the Evolve. I think you could also use the Evolve mount with a bottom insert that has a 1/4 inch threaded hole.
Chris C  If the octa has an s type mount it will work. It fits the way any speedlite would. It is just a tighter fit, but works fine. you may need to purchase a bowens to s type mount. It looks like a little rectangle.
CHARLES B  Get the Godox S type Bowens mount bracket and trim the edges off the rubber bushing and it fits nicely. Make sure you Wescott has a bowens mount. Get the Godox X1t flash trigger for your camera and it works like a charm.
Christian M  Yes it has a umbrella attachment underneath
Galen D  I have a Westcott Rapid box duo that I converted to work with the eVOLV 200. I used the S-type flash bracket (SKU: GLBDSM02 MFR: GL-BD-SBRKT) and swapped the mount on the soft box. Here is a sample of the adapter I used, but not the same exact one i used (SKU: BZRD6210 MFR: BO RD6210) - I ended up needing to file down the outer diameter of this mount so that it fit into the soft box assembly. You might need to replace the entire speed ring, including where the spines fit into the hub (SKU: FPSRBO MFR: GL-SR-BOWENS) ....... or simply the mount.
